Pendang is a major town and district in Kedah, Malaysia. The district is primarily covered with paddy fields with agriculture being its main economic activity.
Pendang has its own district, comprising of townships of Pendang, Tanah Merah, Kubur Panjang, Bukit Raya and Padang Harimau. There is a famous Pendang Lake Recreational & Resort near the Pendang town centre. The main road is Jalan Raja Hasrul Raja Hassan, said to be the longest municipal named road in Kedah state - up to 48 kilometers.
Perigi Mandi Gajah located among the Pendang town and Sungai Tiang adjacent to Pendang Police Station. It becomes place for elephant bathe around the Pendang vicinity. This well were never dry although long drought has happened and becoming place for bathe of the current public during the drought or when other well dried and old days no clean water supplied from government.
Besides that, other famous places in Pendang are Bukit Perak Recreational Forest and Sultanah Hamimah Mosque.
