Located closely to Georgetown, Tanjung Bungah is hidden among lush greenery and rocky landscapes. Some claim that the views of the horizon from the beach are simply the best in Penang. Several upmarket hotels cater for accommodation needs as you enjoy the pristine and serene surroundings. While the beach is popular, it is not as frequently visited as Batu Feringgi, making this an ideal getaway if you want a degree of seclusion.

Batu Feringgi's is Penang Island's most popular beach destination for tourists and locals. This long stretch of sandy beach is home to a wide range of resorts, shopping opportunities and water sports. The charm and appeal of Batu Feringgi has remained unchanged over the years and still continues to draw in large crowds.

Batu Feringgi was believed to have been named after the Portuguese word for 'Foreigners' Rock', as the Penang Island was once fought over by many colonial powers including the British, Dutch and Portuguese. The area has a rich mix of Chinese culture with other races, and most run businesses in the area, a testament to its commercial popularity.

A daily night market takes place in Batu Feringgi, which is another major draw besides the beaches. While Tanjung Bungah does not offer the sights and sounds of the popular Batu Feringghi, it is still a great alternative for those who want more tranquil pursuits or simple rest and relaxation.

Besides the beautiful beach, there is a floating mosque and toy museum to visit, while Batu Feringgi is pretty close-by if you’re in need for some excitement. On Tuesdays, there is a small night market in the area.

Tanjung Bungah is located by the beach; coupled with being a popular tourist spot means that the seafood restaurants here is one of the best in the whole of Penang Island! Visitors can look around in the many restaurants that line the beach for some popular seafood dishes; most are Chinese open-air restaurants but you do get some Malay hawker stalls as well.

Tanjung Bungah has an expansive stretch of beach that is lined withhotels and restaurants, providing some lively activities at night forboth dining and entertainment.

Visitors can enjoy a range of pubs, bars and clubs that are scattered within shops and hotels in the Tanjung Bungah area. Coupled with the beach's relatively quiet and picturesque setting, Tanjung Bungah is a great place to unwind and be entertainment without too much noise of typical nightlife in the city.
