Hi

How can I find a good contractor to renovate my house? I don't know anything about construction and I'm worried I'll get ripped off. Are there any societies for registered contractors?

but u need to take out the underscores and only then it works properly. for some reason the forum puts in underscores.

You can actually go round your neighbourhood and look at the reno done. Ask the owner whose house is being renovated about the contractor he has hired for the pricing, time _frame_, quality work, etc. That was what I did. Ask, ask, ask... short of being a busybody lah. You dont ask, you dont know.

The kelas thing is to categorise the work that the contractors are capable of.

you have to source around. it is wise to get references and quotes. expensive does not equal to good and vice versa. shop shop shop. do not rush lest you be taken for an expensive ride.

Hi, at the current market, normally the renovation price will not too much diffential with others if the materials is same.
But you must find a good service, responsibilty contractor. it because normally if anything happens, they won't serve you better if they have deal with your project.
