Moving to KL on "Local Wages" 3 Years, 6 Months ago Karma: 2
I kind of Like KL - and have been given the half chance of getting a work Visa etc but on Local Wages?

Does anyone know the Average Salary for IT related Jobs etc or point me to some data - doing Google Searches have been "sub optimal"

I could hold out for a expat deal etc .. but I think it is hard to get one in the presnt climes, or at least I am finding it so .. maybe I should have studied more

Any info much appreciated.

RM1.5k would get you a decent but small condo in an ok area.
RM1k for food.
RM1.5k for a myvi including petrol.
RM1k various (utilties, clothes, etc...)
That takes you to RM5k.

RM8k should provide you with a very comfortable lifestyle.

All figures very approximate - I'd ask a few more people before you make the move...

Asim, thanks..

I have been looking at the MM2H programme but hte work restriction causes me an issue slightly - I think working on local wages and buying property may be the way forward.

In fact gives me enough to invite you and your family over for a nice slap up meal.

I recently know someone that has moved over and got a job on a local salary.

I think a lot of employers value people that have been exposed to different environments - they bring some fresh perspectives. In fact I know someone who is looking for a foreigner - why don't you send me your CV.

And I look forward to the invite!
