Yes, pre-approved loan can be done. But I need the property details in order to proceed.
Normally the validity is 1 month, but it can be extended (case by case basis)
I deal with most of the banks.

Some firms outside will charge, but mine no.

Pre-approved home loan means you can apply a loan first, even if you haven't booked the property.

I didn't think it was possible to get a pre-approved home loan in Malaysia.
It's a product that banks should offer but for some reason they don't. I mean wouldn't it be great if you could find out how much the bank is going to lend you (subject to them getting a valuation) before you book?
Which bank does pre-approved loans. If a bank did it I'm sure everyone would start using them...

For pre-approved loan, bank will only lend you the money when you hv signed S&P.
U won't get a loan even if the letter offer out as u dun hv the S&P to prove u hv bought the property.
The pre-approved loan is to let you know whether you are eligble for loan first.
Not all the banks can proceed with pre-approved loan.
It is not possible to know how much the bank will lend you because it is subject to approval. But normally bank will give 90% margin of finance for residential property.

Andrew, I am not sure whether possible to get a pre-approved home loan in Malaysia but in Singapore, it is a norm that we are doing this before buy a new property. Basically, the banks here will assess in term of a person's financial capacity on top of the valuation. Jay, What is the maximum extension period? Cheers Nichole

Yes. For how long the pre-approved loan valid? For example, if I am entitle for a particular loan, until when can I apply for the actual loan?

I mean, if I do not send the copy of S&P yet, how long the pre-approved loan is valid, if it is approved? For example, after a month/year, if I still want to proceed with that loan, can I just give the copy of S&P or I need to get the pre-approved loan (to evaluate) again?

I'm looking a pre-approved loan for a double storey terrace at damai jasa cheras. Is there anyone that can help to secure a firm valuation from the bank for the unit that I've just paid upfront deposit on? I have 14 days to get the my deposit refunded should i'm unable to secure the necessary loan amount.
