Can anyone here guide me about the new FIC rule that foreign investors can only purchase properties worth RM500,000 and above from sub-sale market

now no need to get FIC approval if purchasing residential property. foreigner can purchase property from RM250k and above (RM350k above - Sarawak).
pls do a proper survey before purchasing.
and always AVOID UNLICENSED AGENTS..!

"the threshold for purchase of properties by foreigners is increased in general to RM500,000.00. Above the threshold, foreigners will no longer need to refer to FIC for the purchase of properties. State government however, maintain the right to impose additional conditions."

We purchase properties from developer in Johor and we have foreign clients who wants to purchase from us. it will be sub-sale.

I'm quite confused because the lawyer told me that there's new FIC rule that properties should be RM500k and above. I cannot determine now the price i'll be quoting to our foreign clients.

we purchased pangsapuri & 3 level shops here in JB, I tried to check the website you've given but it's all written in Malay. They don't have English version

applicable for foreigner purchasing in state of johor pangsapuri - apartment; subsales price equal or more than RM350K shoplot; subsales price equal or more than RM500k

Tks They contradict each other, property @auction above RM150K & residential properties valued above RM250,000, This is what the Government http://www.epu.gov.my/233 properties valued above RM500,000 are you now confused? What is the answer?

ok guys.....!
I called Pejabat Tanah KL (03-2610 3388) minimum price of residential / commercial property a foreigner can purchase in KL from RM500k and above
while for Selangor (03-5544 7000), minimum price is RM250k.....
EPU limit of RM500k is just a guideline, so check with the land office where u intend to buy.

Does anyone know what is the minimum for a condo in Penang? I thought it was RM 500K for all residential properties in Malaysia as of Jan. 1, 2010, regardless of which state. Thanks.

In Mayaysia you will find that you never get a straight answer or will allways get conflicting answers just read above, even when dealing with officials who can be the worst, just get a good laywer who knows their job , if you want the name or a good lady laywer to purchase property PM me
I once asked a lady in Butterworth a stall holder what is the time pointing to her watch, her reply was u wana the time now (as in the present time), i smiled & to myself thought no i want the time tomorrow LOL
