I am selling my 2nd house which I have stayed for 26 years, will I be taxed? Is it necessary to engage a lawyer for the sale of my house? If so, how much is the lawyer's fee? Thank you.

you have to pay 5% tax on profit unless you can sign snp before the end of the year.


you do not need lawyer if you do not want one.

Ya, no tax now, but need to be fast...Cos from 1 Jan 2010, tax will be incured on your profit.

You can choose either wan or not to get a lawyer, but my advice is you should get a lawyer because if you park under the purchaser lawyer, there might be conflict of interest and the lawyer will be more take care the benefit of the purchaser. As for the fees is depending on the selling price.
