| Extract from The Star (17/07/10) Sunway City continues to receives accolades for its best practices in human resources SELANGOR, JULY 21, 2010 – Sunway City Berhad’s (SunCity) Human Capital Development department under the Property Development division was recently awarded the HR Achievement Silver Award 2010. The award was presented by YB Datuk Dr. S. Subramaniam, Minister of Human Resources to Ngian Siew Siong. Managing Director, Property Development, International, Sunway City Berhad and Paramjit Singh, Senior Manager, Human Capital Development, Sunway City Berhad during the Malaysia HR Awards 2010 that was held successfully at Sunway Resort Hotel and Spa, Bandar Sunway on July, 20 2010. Paramjit Singh, Senior Manager, Human Capital Development, Sunway City Berhad said, “We are pleased to win this award as it reflects SunCity’s commitment and efforts in promoting human capital excellence. At SunCity, we have always believed in the importance of nurturing our human capital as they represent the foundation of a company’s growth and success.” “Over the past few decades, we have continuously introduced numerous training and personal development programmes with the objective of unlocking and harnessing the potential of our employees. The HR Achievement Award is evaluated based on the following criteria that include effectiveness of human resources functions; human resource development strategy; best practices in human resource; continuous learning and development; application of human resource system and technology and recognition of human resource as strategic resource in the growth of the organisation.
The selection process was conducted over three stages. The panelist for each stage comprised of MIHRM Council Members; senior fellows of the Institute; HR practitioners and academicians; and senior representatives of the organisation.
The final stage of panelists comprised of the panel Chief Executive from organisations that have won the award in the past as well as specially invited Chief Executives. The winners received a plaque and an award certificate.
