Pasir Puteh

Pasir Puteh is a territory (jajahan) and town in Kelantan, Malaysia. The town of Pasir Putih is situated on the bank of Semerak River, about 30 kilometers to the south of Kota Bharu.
 
Before this place was known as Pasir Putih, it was known as Pangkalan Limbungan. The town of Pasir Putih derived its name after Sultan Muhammad IV visited this place. The Sultan was very impressed to see the white sand shining along the riverbanks. 
 
Hence in 1911, the Sultan declared the name of this place as Pasir Putih, which meant white sand. This is the place where a Kelantan warrior, Tok Janggut, raised an army ofMalay warriors to oppose the introduction of taxation in Kelantan.
 
Pantai Bisikan Bayu, are also known as "Pantai  Dalam Rhu", located in Pasir Puteh, near Semerak, about 50 kilometres of Kota Bharu. This coast which contains pine trees that suitable for family picnic. 
 
Sliding facility wind also provided at this announcement place. Jeram Pasu waterfall are most popular waterfall in Kelantan located in Kampung Padang Pak Amat, about 35 kilometres from Kota Bharu south. 
 
Jeram Linang waterfall located in Kampung Lepan Rambai about 15 kilometres from Bandar Pasir Puteh. To go to the Air Terjun Jeram Linang you can go with own transport and also public transport. Major route that links it is Lebuh Raya Timor which is from Wakaf Linchong heads to Machang. In Kampung Sungai Durian in Bukit Abal district found Chabang Tongkat forest reserve which possess beautiful rapids also. Local authority provides facilities for tourists and local community picnic and camps to spend the night.
