TOPIC: Are such renovations approved?

Are such renovations approved? 2 years, 7 months ago #5064

Hi,

Those who have knowledge on buildings guidelines. Your comments on the following is appreciated.

I have a semi-d landed property.
Recently my neighbour did the following renovations.

1)car porch roof
Our properties joined at gate entrance, the car porch, air well and kitchen.
The roofs of the car porch and kitchen joined at the property perimeter.

They raised the car porch roof and add ABS to link this roof to the kitchen roof. The ends of the ABS and car porch roofs ends/rest on the middle of the raised wall top. These raised parts are now above my car porch roof
So now all the rain water on these roofs comes over to my compound.
Is this not infringing into my compound?
They also do not bother to finish nicely the raised wall that is on my side.
Are they obliged to do so?

2)Store house

They built a new store house with the back exactly on our properties perimeter wall. Is this correct?
I thought such building should be some distance away from the perimeter, unless both owners agreed to build two buildings on their land this way.
But in this case they are only building only one such building.
When they build this building, the contractor have to build a scaldfold on our side.

3)Perimeter wall

I understand that building a low perimeter wall of of 3 ft height with 6ft pillars do not require govt. approval. Is this correct.

Your comments are appreciated

As i know, if they submit a plan to the local authority and it is approved, then u have not much thing to do. except appeal. but it take time.
if they never submit any plan, then u should go to complaint. it all subject although there is a guide line. By the way, u can check it out at local council.
