Hi Guys!

Nowadays crime rate has been increasing tremendously. You can prevent this from happening. Secure and watch your property when you are away. Keep an eye on your loved ones when you are at work. Closed Circuit Television (CCTV) systems are an important security weapon to fight against crime. The installation of security cameras has deterred many criminals from targeting homes and businesses hence protecting your business or your home against theft and robbery.

Cheers!

At what resolution will the camera be useful enough for face identification and at what range?
I've seen many security system where you could not even see the face of the people walking along the coverage areas, especially for commercial purpose where the camera could be placed quite high up to scout a larger area.

When crime does occur, because the camera could not capture the face of the culprit or even details of the goods stolen, there were no way file charges against that individual.

So if you could share some tips on the type of system and the specs, it would be great help.

Thanks

My cousin put up a few of those black hemispheres that look like CCTV cameras that doesn't have camera inside just to deter theft. It's working very well thus far. Considering the frequency of break-ins that happens around his neighborhood in that area. Put a few in the front and back and you'll deter some crime. Just like your steering lock. Chances are they can cut your steering wheels but they'd rather pick your neighbour's car with a huge T-Rex steering lock visible.

Oh well, just a thought.

Otherwise, pay a visit to Low Yat plaza and inquire there.

Hi, I would say the min res you require would be 480tvl to 520tvl and also depends on what ccd chip it’s using. Not all CCD chips are equal, even with the same specifications. Quality varies by individual manufacturer.

Common good ones are using sony & panasonic chip. Some of the good quality cameras are capable to even see the pimples on your face. Not to forget even the monitor plays an important role as well.

The range of the camera depends on the lens: - 1/4/\", 1/3\", 1/2\" etc...

The most widely use cameras are 420tvl with 1/3\" 3.6mm lens.

Finally I would say it depends on the individual’s budget on purchasing a good quality camera & system. A good quality camera can cost you from as low as RM 480 and up to RM 2-3K.

Cheers!
